Building Resilient Communities

Caterpillar recognizes progress involves balance of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic growth. Headquartered in Peoria, IL, Caterpillar is one of the top international manufacturers of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines. They are an American Fortune 100 corporation which designs, develops, engineers, manufactures, markets, and sells machinery, engines, financial products, and insurance to customers via a worldwide dealer network. The Caterpillar Foundation is building resilient communities that thrive in a rapidly changing world through investments in the workforce of the future and strong sustainable infrastructure that protects communities and empowers them to thrive. Caterpillar’s goal is to support and create the workforce of the 21st Century, with an emphasis on STEM careers.

In early 2020, the Caterpillar Foundation provided critical COVID relief funding to 40 Clubs throughout its footprint at a great time of need. Moving into 2021, Caterpillar will continue its support of BGCA through a partnership that will help create a set of introductory engineering activities specifically for teens on BGCA’s digital platform, MyFuture. These hands-on, tinkering type projects will be designed to inspire exploration of basic engineering principles.
