On April 23, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and goPuff, a company delivering everyday essentials in minutes, launched a joint campaign through which goPuff pledged to match donations up to $1 Million for the Boys & Girls Clubs COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The Go Back + Give Back initiative supported the Boys & Girls Clubs COVID-19 Relief Fund in two ways. First, goPuff pledged to match all individual donations to the Clubs’ COVID-19 Relief Fund. On #GivingTuesdayNow, goPuff committed to quadrupling donations made to the Fund. Second, donors and supporters were also prompted to participate in goPuff’s #GoBackGiveBack Challenge on Instagram, sharing a photo from their childhood and encouraging friends & followers to do the same, to spread awareness of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ important mission. For every photo submitted to the #GoBackGiveBack Challenge, goPuff donated $5 to Boys & Girls Clubs .

Over the course of two weeks, we saw donations pour in and tens of thousands share childhood photos in support of Boys & Girls Clubs. Among the participants were Mario Lopez, Terrell Davis, Andre Reed, Justin Bieber, Kirk Cousins, James Harden, Meek Mill, Tori Kelly and Alessia Cara.

As a result, today, we are proud to announce we met our fundraising goal and goPuff will be writing a check for $1 million to match the gifts made by Boys & Girls Club supporters for their COVID-19 Relief Fund! THANK YOU to everyone who participated and helped raise money for kids, families and communities across the nation.

The Boys & Girls Clubs COVID-19 Relief Fund helps assist Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, to continue to serve those most in need. Clubs are providing meals, supporting families of first responders by offering childcare and offering virtual learning to keeping kids and teens engaged with positive mentors and on-track academically. In addition, the Boys & Girls Clubs COVID-19 Relief Fund will also enable Clubs to provide critical services as the nation begins to emerge from the pandemic. Clubs will be vital to helping rebuild their communities and restore a sense of safety for kids that may have experienced challenges during the pandemic. With the long-term economic and societal impact of COVID-19 unknown, communities will need Clubs more than ever to help young people stay on the right path and build essential skills to contribute to the future workforce.
