“We are deeply saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Congressman Elijah Cummings. Boys & Girls Clubs are proud to call him a dedicated champion and friend. Throughout his impactful career, he was committed to helping youth everywhere succeed, a commitment we saw in his support of Boys & Girls Clubs and youth in Baltimore and across the country, as he advocated for access to mentors and the overall wellbeing of our nation’s youth. He served his nation, district and community with compassion, grace and dignity. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues. He will be sorely missed but his legacy of leadership will live on in the hearts of his constituents and the lives he touched every day.”
