Paying it Forward for Today’s Youth
Posted 11/08/2019 by Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Alumni

By the age of 5, Club alum Tony Orr knew what it felt like to be unofficially relegated to a life with little hope. His life took a more positive direction after he moved in with his grandmother, who registered him at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte. The first-generation high school and college graduate has since made a name for himself by dedicating his life and career to helping more kids benefit from Boys & Girls Clubs.

As southeast regional vice president for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Tony is responsible for connecting supporters with opportunities to support Boys & Girls Clubs. In fact, he facilitated a $10 million individual gift, the largest such donation in BGCA history. Tony continues to pay it forward by mentoring roughly 25 young people.

Read more about Tony’s success in a recent feature by the Atlanta Business Journal.
