Raytheon Technologies

Raytheon Technologies has been a Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) partner since 2015, working to increase exposure to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with high-quality programming that’s culturally relevant and focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

To create comprehensive virtual experiences that spark STEM career excitement among all youth, we’re focused on representation and highlighting diverse leaders. DIY STEM

In 2021, Raytheon Technologies and BGCA launched a new partnership. We’re now working together to enhance STEM programming and exposure across Boys & Girls Clubs with the rewrite and launch of BGCA’s DIY STEM curriculum and increasing STEM career exploration. Our goal is to prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM – changing the opportunity equation and removing barriers to success for millions of kids who may not receive the same chance as their peers.

Through virtual experiences that spark STEM career excitement, we’re focusing on representation and highlighting diverse leaders with whom youth from similar backgrounds can relate. Together, our partnership can ensure that a diverse generation of aspiring scientists, innovators, engineers, mathematicians and other STEM professionals have the opportunity, inspiration and essential skills to join and lead the workforce of tomorrow.

“I'm excited to participate in the Center of Innovation, I've always had a curiosity in science, technology, math and engineering, and now I can explore these fields in-depth at my Boys & Girls Club.”

Impact on Kids

Through partnering with Samsung, we expanded access to the DIY STEM program and developed the Climate Superstars Challenge. The DIY STEM program serves as the entry-point for all members' STEM learning experience at Clubs and provides youth exposure to STEM through five modules: Energy and Electricity, Engineering Design, Food Chemistry, Aeronautics and the Science of Sports: Football. Climate Superstars aims to encourage youth to raise awareness about climate change and motivate them to take actions that help protect the environment.

Samsung's partnership enables interactive, hands-on learning while providing students with new perspectives on STEM careers and access to the latest technology. In addition, our partnership with Samsung goes beyond our programs and includes cause marketing initiatives that help promote awareness and drive donations for the organization. Through exclusive access to unique experiences such as the Las Vegas Galaxy Studio pop-up with singer Kelly Rowland and music producer and artist DJ Marshmello and a Winter Wonderland video production featuring YouTube star Casey Neistat, Samsung helps expand their understanding of STEM and encourages them to be the next generation of creators and innovators.
