Old Navy

A true legacy partner, Old Navy has supported Boys & Girls Clubs for 20 years. Old Navy’s partnership combines in-store donation drives with local community involvement and employee volunteerism aimed at helping youth dream big.

Imagine a Brighter Future

Old Navy and Boys & Girls Clubs of America partner on This Way ONward, a program that provides job access for teens through workforce readiness training, mentoring and a career pathway at Old Navy. Additionally, Old Navy launched Project WE, a collection of graphic tees designed by diverse artists to imagine a more inclusive world through art. In celebration, Old Navy committed to supporting Boys & Girls Club youth art programs in communities across the country, aiming to close the opportunity gap in arts education.

First Jobs and Skills for Success

This Way ONward is a program that provides the next generation with the first jobs, mentoring, skills and confidence they need to make their dreams a reality by partnering Boys & Girls Clubs with their local Old Navy stores. This Way ONward provides teens 16+ with:

  • Exposure to retail careers
  • Job readiness preparation
  • Opportunities to apply and interview for part-time and seasonal jobs
  • Coaching and support through the entire hiring process

Hiring for potential, not credentials, is a critical component of This Way ONward. Old Navy seeks to recruit 20,000 entry-level store hires through the program by 2025. They recruit youth who may not have direct retail experience, but who have the desire to learn and grow into star employees. The program seeks to improve job access for teens who may never have had a job, contribute to their household income, or invest paychecks for significant milestones such as college. Specifically, Old Navy is targeting candidates who:

  • Are excited to learn
  • Are open to receiving and implementing feedback
  • Have a strong work ethic
  • Are at least 16 years old

For Parents:

  • Find your nearest Boys & Girls Club here and join!
  • Make sure the Club is connected to and has a relationship with their local Old Navy store and run This Way ONward.
  • The Club will provide next steps on how to apply and get involved.

For Teens:

  • Ask your parents to help you find the nearest Club!

For Club Staff:

“Everything I learned from This Way ONward I will take into the future.”

Impact on Kids

Through partnering with Samsung, we expanded access to the DIY STEM program and developed the Climate Superstars Challenge. The DIY STEM program serves as the entry-point for all members' STEM learning experience at Clubs and provides youth exposure to STEM through five modules: Energy and Electricity, Engineering Design, Food Chemistry, Aeronautics and the Science of Sports: Football. Climate Superstars aims to encourage youth to raise awareness about climate change and motivate them to take actions that help protect the environment.

Samsung's partnership enables interactive, hands-on learning while providing students with new perspectives on STEM careers and access to the latest technology. In addition, our partnership with Samsung goes beyond our programs and includes cause marketing initiatives that help promote awareness and drive donations for the organization. Through exclusive access to unique experiences such as the Las Vegas Galaxy Studio pop-up with singer Kelly Rowland and music producer and artist DJ Marshmello and a Winter Wonderland video production featuring YouTube star Casey Neistat, Samsung helps expand their understanding of STEM and encourages them to be the next generation of creators and innovators.
