A.C. Green’s initials aren’t short for anything. But they could easily signify Ambition and Conscientiousness, character traits he first developed at the Boys & Girls Club of North Portland, Ore. From fourth grade on, he filled his out-of-school hours with Club activities such as ping-pong, art and basketball. The Club became a second home. After high school, he earned a degree and played basketball at Oregon State University. His remarkable NBA career included three championships and playing an NBA-record 1,192 consecutive games. In 1989, he established the A.C. Green Youth Foundation to help young people develop leadership skills.
