At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Tamyra became the first Black woman to win gold in Olympic wrestling and became an overnight sensation for her viral post-win interview and infectious personality. Throughout her life, she has displayed extraordinary resilience, overcoming the loss of loved ones, as well as the effects of bullying. She credits her faith and love of wrestling for helping her find strength through adversity and enabling success on and off the mat.
